What is organic coffee?

An organic coffee is first and foremost an organic agricultural product.
It comes from certified organic coffee plantations.
Organic coffee producers are grouped in cooperatives that promote more traditional working methods based on recycling organic matter; for example, in the Ibrahim Limu plantation in Ethiopia, only natural insecticides are used to protect coffee plants from insects.
They improve the ecosystem through crop diversity in plantations Arabica coffee trees grow alongside a wide variety of plants, flowers and large trees whose shade shelters them from both the sun and the cold of high altitude.
