What is organic coffee?

An organic coffee is first and foremost an organic agricultural product.

It comes from certified organic coffee plantations.
Organic coffee producers are grouped in cooperatives that promote more traditional working methods based on recycling organic matter; for example, in the Ibrahim Limu plantation in Ethiopia, only natural insecticides are used to protect coffee plants from insects.
They improve the ecosystem through crop diversity in plantations Arabica coffee trees grow alongside a wide variety of plants, flowers and large trees whose shade shelters them from both the sun and the cold of high altitude.

What is "fair trade" certified coffee?

The ETHIOPIAN COFFEE EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION logo on the packaging of our plantation coffees is your guarantee that this coffee meets fair trade standards, meaning it is purchased from producers who receive a fair price for their work.
Why should multinationals make profits from coffee while those who grow coffee trees and work best coffee beans do not have enough income to feed themselves and send their children to school?

Paying a fair price is a matter of justice, not charity.

If international trade were truly fair, rich countries would not need to make donations to help the countries of the South, whose poverty is less linked to the absence of resources than to the monopolization of them by capital from the North.

Why choose an Ethiopian organic coffee from the Ibrahim Limu plantation?
  • Because all our organic coffees are 100% arabica blends
  • carefully selected and roasted by coffee specialists
  • and because you are looking, like us, for the pleasure of an organic coffee
  • gourmet with tasteful, tasty and more natural qualities!

Ibrahim’s fair trade organic coffee

It is a coffee whose quality is to be a natural agricultural product , cultivated without pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers, nor process of radiation and genetic manipulation... coffee chosen because it is healthier and tastier.
It is a 100% Arabica coffee of superior quality that comes from certified organic and fair-trade plantations for their shade cultivation under forest cover, using the recycling of organic materials, crop diversity and respect for ecosystems ; coffee chosen because it meets the challenges of sustainable and fair agriculture.
It is a coffee controlled throughout by its organic farmers, cooperatives and roasters- by approved certification bodies... control guaranteed by the organic logo.
It is a tool in the fight against poverty in the south. Through the establishment of an exchange system based on respect and partnership on an equal footing. It thus favours coffee producers in developing countries while restoring their autonomy and dignity.
In addition, fair trade organic coffee production uses methods that are environmentally friendly.
